Happy New Year!

2015 was a banner year not only for Real Home by Jude home staging services in Southeast Michigan, but more importantly, for my clients.  I am absolutely thrilled with the growth and level of success and cannot wait to see what’s in store for this new year!  I continue to feel very blessed that I provide home staging services that I am passionate about, brings true value to my clients and many times changes their lives for the better.

One of the biggest shifts in strategy this year was to invest in my own home staging inventory as opposed to outsourcing vacant home staging furniture and accessories to rentals companies.  This has made the cost to the seller a lot more affordable and by hand picking each and every piece in my inventory I can bring the most current and best options to the table (or house, if you will).  Yes, it’s a lot of work but well worth the effort.


I wanted to take a minute to share with you a few of Real Home by Jude’s amazing home staging success stories of 2015.

This is a perfect example of the difference in buyer perception between looking at a vacant home and being able to visualize living there!  Take a look at a couple of before/afters of this Farmington Hills, MI home:

Another wonderful example of the impact of staging.  6 months on the market (May-October) with 0 offers.  Staged at the very end of October and sold within weeks, with 4 other similarly priced properties in the same NOvi, MI subdivision.  (And “they” say that November and December are slow!)

Here’s a prime example of a seller and Realtor understanding the value of staging a property before it hits the market.  Staged in the middle of November this Canton, MI home sold in 2 days with multiple offers!  This example really helps validate the statistics that are out there.

Another example of a seller and Realtor engaging my services prior to hitting the market.  As I recall, the average days on market for this Ann Arbor, MI area at the time of listing was 40+.  Sold after 14 days on the market for 98% of list price.  Not too shabby!

I love working with flippers and builders!  These particular sellers turned a 1926 Craftsman disaster in Brighton, MI into a real gem and had multiple offers.  Without any comps anywhere near the list price they were able to sell it for 97% of list price.

Working with sellers who are preparing their homes to sell while living in it is another very rewarding (and sometimes tricky) experience because I’m working directly with the homeowners and suggesting changes to their home.  This particular Novi, MI seller provided me with a very candid and enlightening post sale interview about their staging experience . . . check it out hereEveryone (the seller, their Realtors and the buyer) benefits when they follow my advice end up with such a positive end result!

I will always hold a special place in my heart for this client.  A senior widow had a lifetime of possessions in her Brighton, MI home and wanted to move out of state to be closer to family.  The thought of preparing her home for sale was overwhelming for her.  After meeting with her, coming up with a game plan and helping her execute it over the course of 3 weeks led to the above astounding success.
